IC/OOC Permissions Post

OOC PREFERENCES:
CONTACT METHOD: Plurk is the easiest way to reach me: [plurk.com profile] autumnleaving Feel free to friend, chatter at, I am mostly harmless. You can also send a PM to this journal, those go straight to my email!
THREAD-JACKING: Go for it, as long as it's fine with the other person!
FOURTH WALLING / CANON PUNCTURE: I would rather no fourth-walling, but canon puncture is fine.
BACKTAGGING: Please! I'm more of a sedate tagger, so patience is appreciated and backtagging encouraged.
AVOIDED TOPICS: I'm pretty open to anything you throw at me, provided it's written thoughtfully. I appreciate exploring uncomfortable subject matter both with myself and my characters, so if anything comes up that makes me TOO uncomfortable, or if it feels out of character, I'll send you a message. And I hope you'll do the same for me, of course.

IC CHARACTERISTICS:
CURRENT CANON POINT: Chapter 36 plus 2 years and change on the barge.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Shiro is an 18-year-old girl of small-to-average height, 5'5" or so, lithe and slender. As an albino and a life-long shut-in, her skin is milky white, only a shade or so darker than her chin-length hair, and her eyes are a bright, violent red. Her body is covered in scars from the neck down. Her clothing tends to be eclectic, usually an assortment of leggings or long skirts with oversized sweaters and long-sleeved tees. Her voice is a little halting and hesitant, her general attitude one of caution and wariness, unless she's in her element. She almost never wears shoes, preferring to wander barefoot.
DEMEANOR: Shiro doesn't see much point in small talk, preferring instead to ask blunt questions and get directly to the point. After all, this is whatever comes after death, isn't it? What's the point in lying anymore, or talking about the weather? She wasn't very well socialized (or socialized at all, really) as a child, so her conversational habits and human behaviors have been learned entirely on the barge, through her close CR and vague memories retained from breaches, making her a pretty unique personality and one that's strangely suited to dealing with this place. She's compassionate without being a pushover, blunt while still being kind, and incredibly honest, with a deep desire to help people, even if it isn't always readily apparent. She's definitely more of an introvert than an extrovert, and prefers the company of a single person or animal over a crowd.
ABILITIES: Aside from healing even extreme wounds at a rapid rate (minor wounds=minutes, broken bone=roughly a week, internal damage=two weeks) Shiro is strong enough to kick through a concrete wall or bend steel bars. As the origin of the Branch of Sin, Shiro is able to manipulate her own blood to form razor-sharp ribbons or concentrated blasts that crush and compress physical material to nearly nothing.
MEDICAL INFORMATION: Shiro heals really quickly. Her blood is full of nanobots that rebuild anything damaged. There's a red crystal fused into her spine, and she's covered in scars from various tests. She does NOT respond well to rooms that look like hospitals or labs.
CABIN INFORMATION: The door looks utilitarian, like it should be three feet of steel, painted in a slightly flaky olive drab. This symbol is painted on it in dark red. Inside, the room is dimly lit, with white tile flooring. In the center of the room there's a broken grand piano that looks like it's been torn in half and stapled back together, and off towards a corner is a large pink bean bag bed. A lone, taped-up action figure sits on top of the piano. There's an assortment of belongings and clothes that she's gathered over her time on the Barge scattered across the room, including an idle mechanical horse leaking steam in a corner, but very little furniture: all she's added since she's been here is a dresser, a small bookshelf, and a kennel for Kuro, her dog.
OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS: Being told she's weak or stupid. Being treated like she's fragile. Hurting her friends. Hurting people weaker than you in general. Any sort of "experimenting on humans is great for science and it doesn't matter who we hurt" talk, anything along the lines of "the ends justify the means."

IC PERMISSIONS:
MENTAL: Shiro's not from a world with psychics or anything so she doesn't really have much in the way of a mental defense. She has only recently (within the last year and change) recovered from DID, so there might be some interesting bumps and cracks in her psyche for people to play with. I'm a-ok with telepathy and dream invasion, just PM me first so I can give you details of what your character might see.
MIMICRY: Absolutely! I'd appreciate a PM first, though, as I'll likely have some limits on what I wouldn't want her shape doing.
VIOLENCE: PLEASE DO. I enjoy combat threads and there is so much violent potential with Shiro.
MAGIC: Shiro is going to LOVE magic! But anything done TO her with magic should probably be run by me first, just so we can work out how it'll be affected by her abilities.
DEBATE: Shiro has been here long enough and seen enough stuff happen that she has Many Opinions. She'll talk for hours about stuff, or just walk off if you're a jerk about it.
OTHER / NOTES: The following topics are very likely to come up when threading with Shiro:

Child Abuse- Shiro was the subject of many extreme tests and procedures for a large portion of her early life. She's pretty matter-of-fact about it.
Torture/Mutilation- While a test subject, parts of her body were removed, to see how fast they'd grow back. Without anesthesia.
Bloodplay- Shiro has psychokinetic abilities that involve manipulation of blood.
Violence/Gore- Less possible now, but probably mention of past incidents.
Suicidal Thoughts/Tendencies- Shiro has tried to kill herself before. Her own death was one of her main goals for a very long time, if not anymore. She does talk about it frankly.
Dissociative Identity Disorder- Due to trauma Shiro created a second personality for herself to cope which was reinforced by a mechanism created by the scientists who studied Shiro. While she has recovered, it was still a very large part of her life for many years and she will talk about it. I try and handle the subject as respectfully, and as close to canon interpretation, as possible.

If any of these things make you uncomfortable, please let me know, and I will absolutely take note and avoid those subjects with our threads. Also, if you'd rather not interact with Shiro, please let me know! No hard feelings, regardless. ♥
